There are certain methods which can lead to correct way of thinking:
1. Cultivate the habit of accurate observation:
Many times we arrive at conclusion on the basis of partial information. This is not appropriate, because our thinking can be accurate only when we have acquired complete information about an event or situation or a person. Hence, we must develop a habit to observe things correctly and obtain complete data or information.
2. Examine before generalising:
We usually think in an inductive way, without looking at the relationship. We should not generalise unless we examine all the details.
3. Overcome superstitions:

Superstitions affect our thinking. So we have to develop the habit of thinking on scientific basis. In other words, we have to use our reasoning ability. We should not be guided by blind beliefs.
4. Have control over emotions:
We cannot think accurately when we are emotionally disturbed. So we must have control over our emotions. Hasty decisions should be avoided. Reasoning can help to overcome wrong thinking during emotions.
5. Develop habit of looking at results:
People should always develop the habit of looking at things on reality basis. Learn to accept reality, so that we can think appropriately. Otherwise we will be deceiving our own selves. We must develop the habit of facing problems, not avoiding them. Do not succumb to wishful thinking or do not think of escaping from situation.
6. Develop contact with good people:
People who can guide to think in proper way may be of good help. So develop contact with such people.
In addition to these things, reading good books, holding discussion with learned people, etc. help to develop habit of right ways of thinking.
